With echoes of caryatids, the draped female figures used as columns in ancient Greek architecture, Herend's sculptor has created a compote supported by three elegant seahorses with draping as well - albeit with a pattern alluding to the intricate armored plates that cover their bodies. When word got to our gnome figurine, idling away their summer in our warehouse, that a colleague was hiking Old Rag Mountain in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, the gnome pulled some major "gnome-itude" and demanded to join the trip.
