Manuel Gustavo Bordallo Pinheiro was the worthy successor and continuator of his father Raphael’s work. In addition to maintaining the tradition by producing the founder’s designs, the heir created several others in the 20th century, with his own contemporary style. This is how the collection of hanging plates was born, which are now being re-released, with hand painted polychrome relief decoration and complex ceramic glazes–a magnificent example of the stylization of Bordallo’s naturalism with Art Deco influence.
