At Mottahedeh we generally opt for lots of bold color with a style that is not shy.  On the opposite end of the spectrum, white creamware made of faience, or soft paste porcelain, is our other love. Creamware has been in the offering for more than forty years.  Many times, the original has been French, and yet we make ours in Italy as the craftsmanship is exceptional and historic. For the Chinese year of the dog, star designer @sebastianherkner has designed a decorative porcelain sculpture, which will delight the hearts of dog lovers far beyond this occasion. This pattern closeup features Spode Judaica. The Judaica Collection celebrates Jewish festivals, holidays, and occasions. The design is based on historic Judaic manuscripts from the 1880's and influenced by early ceramic tile motifs, all in the traditional colors of blue and white.

It is hard to believe that 20 years has passed since Arte Italica was first created by Ann Skidmore, a stay at home mom in CA. Ann started Arte Italica from her home and the first shipments were from her garage, with all the family helping out! A couple of years later, Arte Italica moved its offical office to NY and began warehousing on the east coast. Her dream had come true and years of beautiful Italian products were born!
